Matina LiosiMatina Liosi has studied Law and Philosophy in Greece and the UK. She holds a first degree in Law and two LLMs in Human Rights and Philosophy of Law. She completed her PhD in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Kent. The title of her thesis is: ‘Philosophical Foundations of Human and Socioeconomic Rights: a Duty-based Account’. Matina has extensive teaching and research experience in Bioethics and Medical Law. She has worked at the Centre of Ethics in medicine (CEM), in Medicine School, at the University of Bristol; at the UCL Cancer Institute in London; and in Hull Law School. Matina is currently based in Southampton Law School, where she works on modern technologies, GDPR and, in particular, on the protection of health information of living and dead people (2-years Leverhulme Trust funded project).
